Matt Guba
Investment Advisory Consulting
Matt has nearly 20 years of financial industry experience, beginning his career in the life insurance field after graduating from the Penn State Smeal College of Business in 2007. Through a partnership with Cambridge Investment Research, Inc., Matt works as support for the Wernick Spear Wealth Management team and leverages his decades of knowledge to assist in case design and planning strategy.
His journey to the industry began as a junior in college when he realized how the lack of financial education in the school system was leading friends to making poor financial decisions and wanting to help rectify that. His career has been built around helping educate business owners, individuals, and entities (e.g. endowments and trusts) make sound financial and investment decisions. Matt holds CFP, CLU, and AIF designations along with FINRA Series 7, 6, 63, and 24 licenses.
Outside of work, Matt volunteers as a stagehand for local dance productions in which his kids participate. He also nerds out over cooking almost as much as finance. Matt started playing water polo in high school and continued playing through college and after, though since moving to the Midwest with his wife and four children has shifted to focus more on swimming and golfing.
